From the Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation in 1989: 80% of hypertensive patients lowered blood pressure and decreased medications, while 16% were able to discontinue all of their medications with the use of hypnosis.
Dr. Lewis Mehl, formerly of the Psychiatric Department, University of Vermont Medical School presented a study in May of 1992 involving pregnant women who had breech positioned babies at 36 weeks gestation or more. The study included 200 women. Mehl used hypnosis with 100 women in study group, while the other 100 women had no hypnosis some manually manipulated from outside the abdomen. In the group using hypnosis, 81 of the 100 spontaneously turned to vertex position, half of them only required only one session. In the comparison group of those who did not use hypnosis, 26 babies turned spontaneously.
